Some say eyes are the window to the soul. If that were true, when we open them, does the soul pour out? Does soul flow into mine when you look at me, and when I look at you, do they intertwine? When you look up at the sky, is your soul taking shape within the clouds? Is it working in tandem with your hands while you pick the oranges, take them in, wash them, grab a knife, peel them, and hand the slices to me, smiling? If all that were true, it would be no wonder that land, any piece of it, is alive with soul. An immense abundance, that even the single flower that greeted our Dads every time they glanced at it on the road home in Lebanon was overflowing with it. We created this zine out of a desire to claim witness to our Fathers’ souls, to prove that if we could touch it, it was real; that the love we have for the place our parents escaped to was not in conflict with the ache for the one they left behind. This is us realizing that we can't touch it—but we can see it.

Zine crafted and bound using the saddle stitch method.
